You might already have other pets, before you get your puppy. You might have a whole family of pets already, so be careful of how you introduce them to each other.

Dogs are naturally social. Puppies are used to being part of a pack. In nature, puppies are used to trying to determine who is the leader. So your puppy will try to figure out his place in your family and pets as well. This is a normal thing - purely instinct.

You can crate train your puppy without making him hate his crate. Your puppy should look at the crate as a little safe home for him. If you take time and have patience, your crate training will go well.
