Love and care for your sweet puppies…

A small puppy is always cute and adorable; taking care of a grown dog requires some resposibility though. If you are considering training collars for dogs, it is beneficial to have some information on the different types in order to make an appropriate decision for your dog and for you. Training collars are manufactured by several companies, and each company in turn offers several models that differ in quality, price, and features.
With so many options to choose from, the average dog owner can find himself or herself overwhelmed, but if the specific needs of each dog owner are clearly identified, then the selection becomes much easier.
Different Sorts of training collars for dogs
Choosing the right type of collar can be key in the success of the training. While it’s true that every collar was made with the intention of training, each one differs in its approach. Electronic collars are the first option to come to mind. This type of collars deliver a harmless but surprising static shock to the dog when it incurs in bad behavior.
There are also choke chains available for dog training. As the name suggests, when the dog struggles against the owners lead the collar constricts. Dog owners must learn carefully how to use such collars, however, in order to avoid really hurting the dog. Lastly, there are citronella collars, which spray the muzzle of a dog with a lemon-like odor, either automatically or with the push of a button from a remote control.
Regardless of the training collar used, it’s extremely important to let the dog know which are the exact results expected from the training in a way that it’s very clear. Without this corrective training he will tend to become fearful and just see the collar as a punishment. Finally, while training might be uncomfortable for the dog or the owner at the beginning, in the long run the need of the training collar and the corrections will decrease, as the dog learns the required behavior and commits less and less faults.
